North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Nationwide Guard leaders honored troopers from the Upper Midwest who spent a few yr serving in Afghanistan.
A special ceremony was held Sunday afternoon on the Armed Forces Reserve Middle in Fargo for about 30 members of the North Dakota Military National Guard’s 191st Army Police Company. The soldiers are from 20 communities in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
Burgum stated it was additionally necessary to acknowledge and thank the families of the soldiers who spent so much time away. Sgt. First Class Tyson Mattson stated his wife held the household together while he was serving.
The unit which offered protecting service detail and safe transportation whereas assigned to NATO returned in December.
